NIPT Testing at Sun Labs

Sun Clinical Laboratories is excited to announce our partnerships with Revvity to perform cfDNA (NIPT) testing for all pregnant women throughout Southern California. As certified providers for the California Prenatal Screening Program, our services now extend to Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties.

Our laboratories will perform these tests in-house using Revvity's advanced platform. This testing includes prenatal screening for trisomies 21 (Down Syndrome), 18 (Edwards Syndrome), and 13 (Patau Syndrome), as well as fetal sex determination.

For Patients

Soon-to-be mothers need no special preparation for the blood draw. Simply bring your physician's order form, ID, and insurance cards to any Sun Lab location: no appointment necessary. A service fee will be charged, and results will be available to your provider within 5-7 business days.

For Providers

Healthcare providers should create an account on the state program's website for access to patient results, electronic test ordering, and testing supplies. When ordering cfDNA testing, please select Revvity/Sun Lab as the designated facility and ensure that the order form is correctly filled out to prevent delays in testing. Please provide the patient with the order comfirmation sheet to be brought to any Sun Lab drawing station. Results will be accessible via the state portal.

Rebranding and Updates

As of September 16, 2023, PerkinElmer's life sciences division, now known as Revvity, will reflect this change in the CalGenetic Portal. Sun Clinical Laboratories will be listed alongside Revvity, but this will not affect our workflow or patient results.

Additional Carrier Screening

We also offer comprehensive genetic carrier screening for a broad scope of conditions such as cystic fibrosis, spinal muscular atrophy, and fragile X syndrome. Our panels adhere to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) recommendations, ensuring the highest standard of care.

Service Ordering

For easy NIPT service ordering, physicians can fill out sections #2 (Pregnancy Information) and #6 (Patient Consent) of the NIPT Consent & Order form and send patients to our draw station with their IDs and insurance information.
